In a continuation of Anti Muslims rhetoric, a Union minister and BJP Member from Bihar, Giriraj Singh was booked for violating model code of conduct by making controversial remarks against the Muslim community at a rally in Bihar’s Begusarai.
Video footage of the statement made by the Controversial leader, who is contesting against student politician, Kanhaiya Kumar for Bihar’s Begusarai Lok Sabha seat reveals the BJP member saying, Hindus are burnt, but Muslims will not be provided the land for burial if they do not sing Vande Mataram.
According to a complain in District Magistrate’s office, Begusarai, the FIR was lodged at Town police station under relevant sections of the IPC in wake of controversial remarks made by the BJP leader, the Quint reported.
Besides Singh, the rally in which the controversial statement was made was attended by Amit Shah, the BJP president and a number of other BJP leaders.
“There are many people who are trying to spread communal tensions. We will not allow that to happen anywhere in Bihar including Begusarai. The RJD candidate in Darbhanga recently said he had problems with reciting Vande Mataram”, Singh said referring to Abdul Bari Siddiqui’s comments last Sunday.
The BJP leader on several occasions has been accused of making controversial remarks, ahead of 2014 Lok Sabha polls, he had said those opposed to Narendra Modi deserved to be deported to Pakistan.
