
The administration in Jammu Kashmir has issued an order in supersession of the committee members for the naming of Government schools after deceased soldiers of the Indian Army and other “eminent personalities.”
In a fresh order, numbered, 835-JK(GAD) of 2021 dated 07.09.2021, the Jammu Kashmir admin has sought from the committee recommendations on the proposals for the installation of statues/memorial plaques, naming of roads & buildings.
The new committee will include, Administrative Secretary, Home Department who will act as the chairman of the committee. Administrative Secretary, Department of Rural Development, Administrative Secretary, Housing & Urban Department, Administrative Secretary, Culture Department, Divisional Commissioner as members.
The seven-member committee may co-opt ad-hoc members for any particular proposal, shall be serviced by the General Administration Department, and submit its recommendations to the administration of Jammu Kashmir for final decision by the Administrative Council.
