The Jammu Kashmir National Conference has demanded a probe into the alleged incident of assault on Sugra, the daughter of Moulana Sarjan Barkati in Beerwah Budgam.
Sugra Barkati, on Tuesday, alleged that the supporters of National Conference had attacked their public meeting in Beerwah resulting into injuries to several people including the daughter of Barkati.
Angad Singh Khalsa, who is campaigning for Sarjan Barkati, in a viral video said that several people were injured during the assault.
In response the Jammu Kashmir National Conference has said asked the Jammu Kashmir Police to file an FIR in the case and conduct an inquiry, suggesting NC had no hand in the attack on Sugra.
“JKNC urges J&K police to register an FIR immediately and conduct an impartial and independent inquiry into the incident relating to Ms Sugra Barkati,” NC posted on X.
The Jammu Kashmir Police have filed a First Information Report (FIR) against unidentified workers of the National Conference in connection with an alleged attack on Sugra Barkati and her supporters in the Beerwah area of Budgam district.
The FIR, registered at Police Station Beerwah under FIR No. 109/2024, cites Sections 126(2) and 351(2) of the BNS.
