Former Member of Legislative assembly for Pahalgam constituency and the leader of National Conference, Altaf Ahmed Kaloo Friday alleged that he was detained at the Delhi International Airport.
Kaloo alleged that after being stopped at the immigration counter at New Delhi Airport, Altaf was detained and barred from travelling to Dubai.
Speaking to The Kashmiriyat, one of his close associates said that, “Altaf Kaloo was stopped from boarding a Dubai bound plane. I was scheduled to visit Dubai to attend a family function but to my shock, I was stopped and detained for more than four hours,” Kaloo told news agency KNT adding that he faced a lot of embarrassment.
Altaf was told that the officials told him that he is included in the list of 38 politicians from Jammu Kashmir, who won’t be allowed to travel outside India, he alleged
Kaloo was one among thousands of Kashmiris detained after the abrogation of Special Status in Jammu Kashmir on the 5th day of August in 2019.
