No guilty should escape and no innocent should be harmed: DGP

Jammu Kashmir’s Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat on Saturday chaired a high-level security review meeting in Sopore, where he called for stronger night patrolling, intensified naka checking, and close coordination with other security agencies to counter threats from anti-national elements.

Reiterating the principle of balanced policing, the police chief said, “No guilty should escape and no innocent should be harmed.”

He emphasized the need for operational vigilance, enhanced area domination, and continuous pressure on militants and their support networks through both kinetic and non-kinetic measures, while safeguarding the rights of law-abiding citizens.

The DGP directed SDPOs and SHOs to strengthen community engagement, ensure unhindered movement of people, and provide timely redressal of grievances. Stressing the importance of responsive policing, he said police stations, as the basic units of law enforcement, must remain strong, people-oriented, and attentive to citizens’ concerns.
