At an election rally in Nowshera, Home Minister Amit Shah made a strong statement against militancy, declaring that no stone pelter or militant would be released in Jammu Kashmir.
Shah emphasized that there would be no talks with Pakistan until militancy is eradicated. His comments came during a speech in support of Jammu Kashmir BJP President Ravinder Raina.
Shah accused the National Conference-Congress alliance of intending to release stone pelters and terrorists if they came to power, as outlined in their manifesto. Referring to NC leader Farooq Abdullah’s remarks on the revival of militancy, Shah vowed that the Modi government would eliminate terrorism, promising that no militant or stone pelter would be set free.
Addressing calls from opposition leaders for dialogue with Pakistan, Shah reiterated that there would be no discussions with Pakistan until terrorism is wiped out.
Instead, he said, he would engage directly with the youth of Jammu and Kashmir, whom he referred to as “lions.”
Shah also referenced underground bunkers built for the safety of border residents, suggesting they may no longer be necessary due to the government’s strong stance on cross-border fire. “If they fire a bullet, we will respond with a shell,” he warned.
Additionally, Shah criticized opposition leaders for their remarks on reservation policies, asserting that reservation for Paharis, Gujjars, Dalits, and other backward classes would remain untouched under the BJP government.
He dismissed Rahul Gandhi’s alleged comments in the US questioning the need for reservations, assuring that the BJP would not allow any rollback of these protections.
