No Need of Lockdown if SOPs Followed:Dr Shahid Chowdhary

Dr Shahid Chowdhary, The District Development Commissioner, today, talking to media said that there is no need of lockdown if the COVID SOP is followed properly.

He said, “ we have held meetings with religious heads and traders, and we have decided to to open 50% of the market places and religious places after 16 August.”

Adding further, he said , “ If SOPs are followed properly, I don’t think the lockdown needs to be extended”.

Dr Shahid Chowdhary answering a query about the rise in COVID cases in Srinagar, he said, “ Experts are saying that more COVID cases may emerge in Srinagar and there are bleak chances of seeing a fall down in these cases in coming days. It’s very important that we all follow Government SOP’s, use face masks, maintain physical distance and take all other precautionary measures“.

He said that the number of recovered cases is almost double the number of the positive cases in the valley.

It’s important to mention that overnight Jammu Kashmir had 482 positive cases, taking the number to 26413. The number of recovering and recovered cases is much higher.
