Mehbooba Mufti, The former Chief Minister of Jammu Kashmir visited the house of deceased Amreen Bhat, a TV actress who was shot dead by gunmen in the Chadoora area of Budgam.
The Kashmiriyat on Thursday repported that around evening time on Wednesday, Two men came inside the house of Amreen Bhat, 35, in Hushroo area of Budgam’s Chadoora belt. The men asked a young nephew of the TV artist, Amreen to call her out. As soon as she came out, the two men fired bullets at her injuring the TV artist and her 10-year-old nephew.
Amreen has left behind an old father and a sister. Amreen had been acting in various television programs to earn a livelihood for her family. “She was the sole bread earner to the family,” her father Khazir Mohammed told The Kashmiriyat.
“Nobody has come here as of yet. No official has come to visit us because Amreen came from a poor family,” he said on Thursday.
Expressing anguish, the former Chief Minister said,she was shocked to know that no one from LG admin has bothered to visit them.
She also said that the administration had not even promised any help to Amreen’s family. Amreen pertinently was the sole breadwinner to her family.
In a tweet, Mehbooba Mufti said, “Visited Ambreen Bhat’s family. Shocked to know that no one from LG admin has bothered to visit them. A sole breadwinner, she struggled to make ends meet. Hope the govt takes her circumstances into consideration & extends help.”
