An encounter has broken out between militants and government forces in the Zolwa Kralpora area of Chadoora in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
An official told The Kashmiriyat that 53 RR of the Indian Army and Jammu Kashmir Police on Thursday evening launched a joint launched cordon and search operation in the Chadoora area of Budgam.
During the cordon the militants opened fire on the forces, triggering an encounter.
He said that two militants are believed to be trapped inside and intermittent exchange of gunfire is going on.
Locals meanwhile said that a heavy contingent of forces has reached the area and have installed lights to not give a chance to militants to escape from the spot using darkness.
