A resident of Budgam’s Chadoora area in central Kashmir has alleged that the Police personnel stormed inside his house and pulled three inmates including his mother during the dark of the night, the Police, however, has denied the allegations.
Syed Najmul Huda, who is a Cyber Security Researcher from the central Kashmir district wrote that at around 10:45 men male Policemen came inside the house and pulled out his father, his uncle, and his mother. He said that he was assaulted after the Police barged inside the house without a reason.

“At 10:45 pm police came to my house and they beat me, my dad, and my mamu ( and then they took my dad, my mamu and my mom with him for no reason. Is this justice?” Najmul said.
The Jammu Kashmir Police in a statement said, “A video has been posted on social media platform that a lady along with others was arrested by Police in Budgam during late night.”
In this connection it is clarified that No lady has been arrested. The fact is that 02 accused persons who were evading their arrest since May 2022 in case FIR number 69/2022 u/s 354 (Assault or criminal force to woman) , 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation) , 341 IPC of Police Station Khansahib and were not attending Police station/cooperating with police were arrested from their home yesterday late night namely: Syed Farhat son of Mohammed Hussain Shah resident of Surasyar Chadoora and Tahir Ahmad Shah son of Mohammad Maqbool Shah, resident of Panzan Chadoora.”
The Police said, “However, while effecting their arrest, some of the family members resisted their arrest, created ruckus on the spot, including a lady who was forcibly trying to board police vehicle to avoid the arrest of the accused.”
Najmul said his mother was taken away by the male Police personnel, but she was released later, a claim denied by Jammu Kashmir Police.
“Later, some locals and relatives of the lady persuaded and motivated the lady to deboard the vehicle, read the Police statement,” Jammu Kashmir Police said.
“Now my mom is with me but they arrested my dad and my mamu ( at khansahab police station. The driver of that Rakhsak (Police vehicle) shouted at me and my mom and said “I’ll undress your mom then take the video and I’ll put her on social media, So it’s better to delete the video.”
“Video delete karo warna tere baap aur teri life kharab karinege aur tujhe yahan fake drug case main band karenge,” one of the Policemen allegedly told Najmul. (Delete the video or else your father and your lives are devastated. We will accuse you in a drug case, if you do not delete the video.)
He said that his father was made to call him from the Police station and ask me to delete the video. “Police tortured him and forced him to call me to tell me to delete the video. When i went to meet my father, they beat me and forcefully made me delete videos. The driver of the Rakshak beat me and my mom with sticks,” Najmul allaged.
Najmul has managed to take some videos from the incident and posted them to his Twitter. The videos have evoked widespread anger across the Kashmir valley.
“General public is advised not to fall prey to the false information being propagated on social media and avoid sharing such videos without verifying the facts,” Police said.
