A youth was arrested by Government Forces during a nocturnal raid at Memander area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district in the intervening night of Sunday and Monday.
Locals told The Kashmiriyat that youth identified as Shakeel Ahmed was arrested initially after which the Forces tried to enter other houses, however youth hit the streets pelting stones on Forces forcing them to flee from the area.
They said that the forces later fired tear smoke shells and pellets on the protesting youth, however the clashes continued till 2 am midnight, but forces did not enter any houses later.
They left the village around 2:10 am, a Local informed The Kashmiriyat.
Police Sources told The Kashmiriyat that Shakeel has been arrested for questioning.
