A woman was injured in a bear attack in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
Official sources told The Kashmiriyat that on Thursday morning, a nomad woman from Poonch district of Jammu Kashmir was with her flock of sheep and goats in the Batangoo area of Kund, when a black bear attacked her.
The nomad woman identified as Safeena Banoo wife of Mohammed Iqbal Khan, a resident of Poonch district, received serious injuries during the attack.
Some area locals reached the spot, chased down the bear, then shifted Safeena to Emergency Hospital Qazigund for treatment.
Meanwhile, the officials said that the incident took place in the Batangoo Kund area, however, a team from the wildlife department will visit the spot and make a report.
