Due to the non-clearance of snow, many areas of the Shopian are facing a lot of problems, which is a cause of concern for the residents of Shopian.
Nisar Ahmad, a resident of Gethpora, Shopian told The Kashmiriyat, the residents are facing a lot of problems because of snow in the area. “For elderly people and kids, it is not possible to go out sometimes due to snow and slippery roads.”
He said that they have to carry the patient on shoulders or stretchers in the snow to reach hospitals, For critical patients and pregnant women, it becomes very problematic to reach nearer district hospitals safely.
“We have to walk for three kilometers from our village to reach Sub-District Hospital, Shopian,” he added.

Appealing to the officials for intervention he said, “The authorities must clear the roads because it creates inconvenience to the residents.”
Pertinently the Jammu Kashmir administration in all districts undertook massive snow clearance operations and most parts of the Kashmir valley have been cleared off snow, however some rural areas like this one remain yet to clear off the snow.
