
A woman who was rescued by locals after she allegedly jumped into river Jhelum at New Zainakadal bridge succumbed on Thursday afternoon.
Sources told news agency Kashmir Scroll that an old aged woman name (withheld) resident of Kailashpora was rescued by locals after she allegedly tried to end her life by jumping into river Jhelum on Ist July.
They said after the incident she was taken to SMHS hospital for treatment, where she succumbed this afternoon.
Meanwhile, police are investigating the matter and further details are awaited.(KS)
