District Disaster Management Authority in South Kashmir’s Islamabad (Anantnag) district in collaboration with State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) held a disaster management preparedness programme at Government Degree College Uterssoo Shangus of the District.
Tehsildar Shangus while addressing the gathering said that the aim of organizing such programme is to acquaint the public in general and youths in particulars about the Civil Defense activities and disaster management in order to minimize the loss of human lives and property during the disasters.
He also said disaster management is a collective term encompassing all aspects of planning for responding to emergencies and disaster including both pre and post event activities.

During the camp, the master trainers imparted training to the Volunteers / general masses and officials regarding the preparedness, mitigation and response about the steps needed to be taken in times of disasters.
