The Jammu Kashmir Police on Thursday claimed to have arrested on drug peddler and recovered 39 kilograms of poppy straw (Fukki) from their possession.
In a press statement to The Kashmiriyat, Police said that after receiving inputs, the SHO of Verinag Tajamul Islam Wani raided the house of Ruby Jan, a resident of Nowgam Shahabad and during the search recovered 39 Kgs of Poppy straw Powder from the house.
They said that a case was registered vide FIR no 83/2022 under sections 8/15 of NDPS Act.
“General public is advised not to indulge in drug menace. The Locals of Shahabad appreciate the swift action against drugs by Verinag Police,” the Police stated.
