One Militant has been arrested alive during an encounter that broke out between militants and security forces in Rangreth area of Srinagar district on Sunday afternoon.
Earlier, An official told The Kashmiriyat Government forces including Special Operations Group (SOG) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) launched a cordon and search operation after inputs about presence of militants in Rangreth area.
During the CASO, the militants holed up in the area opened fire upon the forces, triggering an encounter.
One Militant has been arrested alive from the spot of the encounter, while a massive exchange of gunfire is still on at the site of the encounter.
The officer said that two to three militants are believed to be trapped in the area.
An intermittent exchange of gunfire is still on, as per the latest reports.
Meanwhile reports suggest that a top commander of Hizb ul Mujahideen has been trapped at the site of the encounter.
