
One Militant has been killed during the ongoing encounter that broke out between militants and government forces in the Kreeri, Dooru area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Tuesday evening.
Earlier an official told The Kashmiriyat that on Tuesday 19 RR of the Indian Army, 164 BN of CRPF, and Jammu Kashmir Police after receiving inputs about militant presence in the area laid a cordon and search operation in the Kreeri area.
During the cordon, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight, he said.
During the exchange of gunfire, one unidentified militant has been killed and the operation is still going on as more militants are believed to be trapped.
