one militant has been killed during an encounter that broke out between militants and government forces in Mirhama area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
An official told The Kashmiriyat that on Saturday afternoon RR of the Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF launched a joint launched cordon and search operation in the Mirpora area of Kulgam.
During the cordon, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight, he said
Two militants are believed to be trapped in the area.
During the exchange of gunfire, one foreign militant has been killed during the initial exchange of fire, whose is yet to be identified, the official said.
