One Militant has been killed during an encounter that broke out between government forces and militants at Pazwalpora in Zoonimar area of Srinagar district on Sunday morning.
A Police official told The Kashmiriyat that a cordon and Search Operation (CASO) was launched in the area by joint team of forces including CRPF and Srinagar Police on specific inputs about the presence of militants in the area.
An official said that, after trapping the militants, they were asked to surrender, however, opened fire, which was retaliated, thus triggering an encounter.
Sources said that two to three militants are believed to be trapped, while one of them has been killed so far.
They said that, two of the trapped Militants are from Srinagar, while one is from the Pulwama District, the firing had stopped for half an hour- though the firing has restarted.
Internet has been downed in the district.
