One militant was killed during a nocturnal encounter in the Kathohalan area of Shopian district.
An official quoted by local News Agency Kashmir Scroll that security forces recovered incriminating materials, including arms and ammunition.
The search operation is currently underway, he said.
He identified the slain as Maysar Ahmad Dar, a recently recruited militant affiliated with TRF, hailing from Veshro in Shopian.(KS)
