The minority Kashmiri Pandits working in Kashmir Valley, particularly at all transit accommodations of PM Package observed a hunger strike to demand their transfer from the Kashmir valley.
The employees in a press release today said that The PM package employment was a way to provide jobs to address the economic issues of the displaced community. This package was not linked with the rehabilitation plan of the displaced Kashmiri Hindu community, in fact, the consideration of the Government was that these employees of the minority community will be ambassadors of peace and will bridge the gap between majority and minority communities which did not happen on the ground and they became scapegoats.
“Despite the official apathy, they were doing their duties regularly knowing fully that UT administration is not working in their favor. In the last three years we have witnessed a surge in the killings of Kashmiri Pandits and Hindus who have always been the flag bearers of nationalism and have openly supported the Government of India added in a release today,” the press release added.
One of the employees who is on hunger strike at Vessu today said that employees are under direct attack of terrorists and are not safe even at high security like tehsil office where Rahul Bhat was gunned down in broad daylight on last month same day 12th May while doing routine official work.
“We have completed 30 days of protest today, but the government seems to be least bothered about our concerns but the PM Package employees still have all hopes in Modi-led Government and have appealed to the LG Manoj Sinha to relocate all the Hindu employees of the valley to outside valley till the situation becomes normal in the valley,” it read.
“Kashmir belongs to us and we all wish to live in the valley but the situation this time is not in our favour so we again appeal Govt the that we should be relocated to Jammu till the situation will become normal here in valley,” the press release concluded.
