One student among 25 passes 8th class examination in Anantnag’s Kokernag

At a time when most of the government schools are performing well, a government school in Kokernag area of Anantnag district has performed below par where just a single student among 25 has passed 8th class examination.

A single student out of 25 students of Govt Middle School Khokarpora Adhal Vailoo in Kokernag has passed the 8th class examination.

The poor performance of the school has evoked strong resentment from the people.

Locals told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that the government has employed six teachers for imparting education to 25 students and of them only one has cleared the board exams and this matter needs to be investigated.

They alleged that teachers come to school only for passing time rather than imparting education to the children.

They said that when students fail the 8th grade examination, then you can understand the future of such students.

“These students can’t even write their names, then for what government is paying salaries for these students,” they said.

These teachers must be transferred at an earliest and new teachers must be posted there so that other students studying there can be taught well.

They demanded that the matter must be investigated and action must be taken against teachers.

Meanwhile, Joint Director Education South Kashmir Jahangir Ahmad Khanday told KNO that they are ascertaining the reasons behind the failure of most of the students in the 8th class examination.

“After proper investigation, department will fix responsibility whosoever will be found responsible,” he said—(KNO)
