The authorities on Friday said only 4×4 and vehicles with anti-skid chains will be allowed to go to Gulmarg and vice-verse in view of the slippery road condition.
According to an order, a copy of which lies with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), SDM Gulmarg said the move has been taken to prevent accidents and long-lasting traffic jams.
“To prevent accidents and long-lasting traffic jams due to slippery roads, which puts the commuters to much inconvenience, only 4×4 vehicles and those with anti-skid chains shall be allowed from Tangmarg to Gulmarg and vice versa till the thawing of the ice from the road,” it reads—(KNO)
