In a press conference held today, India’s Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) provided key updates on Operation Sindoor, which has been ongoing since May 7.
The operation has already resulted in the elimination of 100 terrorists, including high-value targets such as Yusuf Azhar, Abdul Malik Rauf, and Mudasir Ahmed.
The DGMO also shared details of Pakistan’s losses during the operation, reporting that between May 7 and 10, the Pakistan Army had lost between 35 to 40 personnel.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been closely monitoring the situation and has given clear instructions to the armed forces regarding cross-border firing.
PM Modi’s message was unequivocal: “Wahan se goli chalegi, toh yahan se gola,” which translates to “If they fire bullets from there, we will respond with bombs.” This directive underscores India’s resolve to respond with full force to any provocation across the Line of Control (LoC).
Sources added that the Indian response will be decisive, stating, “If they fire, we will fire, and if they attack, we will attack.” The PM’s comments come after a series of attacks on Indian air bases, marking a significant turning point in the ongoing conflict.
Regarding Kashmir, the sources reiterated India’s firm stance on the issue, saying, “We have a very clear position on Kashmir, there is only one matter left – the return of Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK). There is nothing else to talk about.”
Following the India-Pakistan agreement for the cessation of hostilities, the Indian Air Force confirmed that it had completed its tasks in Operation Sindoor with “precision and professionalism,” but stated that the operations were far from over.
In a post on ‘X,’ the Indian Air Force clarified that further briefings will be provided in due course, urging the public to avoid speculation and spreading unverified information.
Operation Sindoor, which was launched in response to the deadly attack in Pahalgam last month, aims to target terror sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir. The Indian Air Force has carried out the operation with a strategic focus, ensuring national objectives are met with discretion.
