Employees and engineers of the Power Development Department (PDD) of Anantnag district continue their protest at various places in Anantnag District aganist the ‘privatisation’ of grid stations and unbundling.
Protestors assembled under one banner and raised slogans, saying that unbundling of the department would put employees as well as consumers to immense hardships as all the policies framed by the authorities would be only meant to gain profits.
The employees were seen holding placards against the privatisation of power. The employees observed protests against the privatisation of electricity.
The protesting employees said that they have put a four-point agenda in front of the government and said if their demands were not fulfilled, their protest will continue.
D.D.C member, Dooru constituency, Peer Shahbaz, in his statement said that the authorities should look into the matter and fulfill the demands at the earliest so that common people don’t have to suffer and face harships amid the bone chilling winter.
He also said that PDD employees should perform their duties with zeal and honesty because many villages suffer due to power cuts.
Peer Shahbaz also appealed the L.G. adminstration to look into the matter, intervene and to fulfill their demands so that consumers take a sigh of relief from power cuts.
