The family of Aijaz Ahmed Wani in Chadoora area of Budgam have claimed that the Police was twisting the facts to prolong Aijaz’s detention, and the allegations against him of being a Militant affiliate are baseless.
The family stated that the arrested, Aijaz Ahmed Wani, has no links whatsoever to Militancy, he is a labourer by profession.
“The Jammu Kashmir Police picked him randomly from his home on July 13 during a raid and and merely for keeping his phone switched off,” a family member said.
The family said that he was working at his home and had left his phone at his shop, when the Police came they accused him of avoiding their calls. His mother, Haleema Banoo speaking to The Kashmiriyat said, “The Police’s version of the story is a manipulation, My son was arrested from his home, not at any Nakapoint as claimed by Jammu Kashmir Police.”
Appealing the Inspector General of Police to intervene into this issue, Haleema said, she had visited the Police station many a times with husband to meet her son and the the concerned officer who promised that her son will be released sooner, Now he is being accused of being an OGW to Militants.
The Jammu Kashmir Police on Wednesday said that it had arrested three associates of Militant outfit Jaish e Muhammad in Chadoora area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district at a check point.
