Oxford University Students Protest against Khurram Parvez’s detention

On Sunday, 28 November students of University of Oxford , England protested against the detention of Kashmiri Human Rights activist Khurram Parvez.

It is pertinent to mention that Khurram Parvez was arrested by NIA ( National Investigative Agency) on 22 November and has been booked under multiple charges which include 120 B (criminal conspiracy), 121 (waging war against Government of India) and 121 A (commit offences punishable under Sec 121) of the Indian Penal code.

As per The Quint, the protesting students had issued a press release in which they stated that they “urge the international community to pressure the Indian state to stop the atrocities in Kashmir and also release Khurram Parvez, a prominent human rights defender.”

The protesting students can be seen holding placards which reads “Release Khurram Parvez.”

The students also observed 7 minutes silence for illegal detentions, arbitrary killings. They can be seen chanting slogan “Inqalab Zindabad” and holding placards ” Stand With Kashmir.”
