Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) on Tuesday said that it will explore the possibility of challenging the ‘deeds’ of Delimitation Commission in the Supreme Court of India.
While talking to news agency Kashmir News Trust over phone from Jammu, PAGD Spokesperson, Muhammad Yousuf Tarigami said that if the proposal of the Commission to grant six seats to Jammu and one to Kashmir is finalized, it will find ways and means to challenge the Commission in the Supreme Court of India.
“We will do it if Delimitation Commission’s proposal becomes a reality. Earlier, also the exercise of the Commission was challenged in Assam and we will explore all the possibilities and will challenge the Commission in the court of law what it has done in Jammu and Kashmir.
Pertinently, almost all the political parties from Kashmir Valley had alleged that the decision to conduct the process of delimitation exercise was not only a hasty decision but also stood contrary to the very idea behind conducting delimitation. (KNT)
