Electrification of Budgam-Banihal railway track to be completed by Aug 15

The much-hyped electrification of Budgam to Banihal railway track is all set to be completed by August 15 while the authorities said that the work on the track is in full swing. Police on Thursday claimed to have arrested seven gamblers along with stake money, above one lakh, in North Kashmir's Baramulla district. At least four residential houses were damaged in a fire incident in Lone Mohalla near Marriage Hall Khanyar in Srinagar on Thursday morning, reports said here. 12-year-young boy critically wounded after being hit by two-wheeler in Anantnag

Suhail Dar On Wednesday afternoon a 12-year-old boy was hit by a two-wheeler in Shangus area of south Kashmir's Anantnag district. The boy has been identified as Surjeel Fayaz Beigh son of Fayaz Ahmed Beigh, a senior journalist who is resident of Shangus and studying in Elite Public School. Family members told The Kashmiriyat that he was getting off the school bus when a too wheeler hit him after which he was rushed to the Shangus hospital. Two were killed during an encounter between Punjab Police and two gangsters suspected to have played a role in the killing of singer Sidhu Moosewala near Punjab's Amritsar on Wednesday. According to ANI, two gangsters named Jagroop Singh Roopa and Manpreet Singh alias Mannu Kusa, both key suspects in singer Sidhu Moosewala's murder, have been killed in a shootout with the police near Amritsar today. Three Punjab policemen and a journalist have also been injured in the shootout. According to official sources, the two gangsters - Jagroop Singh Roopa and Manpreet Singh - were allegedly involved in the killing of the singer and they were absconding since the crime.
