Three students from north Kashmir's Kupwara district have gone missing and their families have appealed them to return home. Body of a 34-year-old Srinagar-based broker was found and retrieved from river Jhelum, after have gone missing almost two weeks before from his home here, sources said. They told GNS that the person, Shameem Ali Nath son of Late Ali Mohammad Nath resident of Chattabal Guzerbal, had gone missing around evening of July 5, 2022. After failing to find him, the family lodged a missing report at the nearest police station after five days. “A body was spotted by some passersby inside river Jhelum at Maloora, following which a police team reached the site and retrieved the body and it came out to be of Shameem Ali Nath”, they said adding the body was taken by the police team into its possession for necessary medico-legal formalities. Srinagar, (KNO): The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Tuesday said 182 civilians and security forces personnel were killed in the militancy-related incidents in 2020 and 2021. In a written reply, a copy of which is in possession of the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the MHA said 437 militancy-related incidents were reported in 2020 and 2021. In these two years, 104 security force personnel and 78 civilians lost their lives, the Ministry said. In 2020, 244 militancy-related incidents took place in which 62 security forces personnel and 37 civilians lost their lives.
