41 Flights cancelled due to snowfall at Srinagar airport

All flights scheduled to operate at Srinagar international airport were cancelled due to snowfall on Wednesday. Director, Airports Authority of India, Srinagar, Kuldeep Singh told GNS that 41 flights were to operate but snowfall forced their cancellation. As per airlines, the passengers will be adjusted in the forthcoming flights in next available flights. While weather is set to improve as per the forecast by the local meteorological department, the Director AAI expressed hope that all flights will operate tomorrow. A woman was injured after a shed collapsed due to heavy snowfall in Achan village of Litter Tehsil in south Kashmir's Pulwama district. Locals told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that a lady namely Arifa Banoo (45) wife of Mohammad Shafi Dar was cooking in a shed when it collapsed resulting in injuries to the said lady. They said due to accumulation of snow on the road, they were unable to take her to hospital following which a JCB was called in to take her to the hospital. Locals have requested administration to clear main roads at an earliest so that people won't face any problems. Danishwar Hameed Family members of 25-year-old missing youth have urged their son to return home and appealed to the general public to help them in tracing him. Youth, identified as Suhail Ahmad Lone son of Fayaz Ahmad Lone resident of Awagam area in Kulgam district is missing since February 06.
