On a specific information from reliable sources, a team of officers of Police station Qazigund raided the suspected place (residential house) at Sesman Danjan, Qazigund and recovered; 25 Kg of Poppy straw from the possession of a notorious drug peddler namely, Nisar Ahmad Dar S/O Ab Rehman Dar R/O Sesman Damjan Qazigund. They made sure that they collected ample water for a week, since the water supply through the tank only reaches them after a week or so. Body of a non-local hawker was found at Sheen Mohalla area of Noorbagh Srinagar, officials said on Tuesday. They identified the deceased as Papu son of Sohan Lal of Saharanpora Uetter Pradesh. The 31-year-old, they said, was putting up as tenant in the house of Ghulam Mohammad Sofi of Baghwanpora Noor Bagh. Police shifted the body to SMHS hospital for medico-legal proceedings, they said. Jammu and Kashmir reported 137 fresh Covid-19 cases even as there was no death due to the virus in the last 24 hours, officials said on Tuesday. They said 100 of the fresh cases were reported from Jammu Division and 37 from Kashmir valley, taking the overall tally to 452547. Giving district wise details, the officials told GNS, Srinagar reported 22 cases, Baramulla 3, Budgam 7, Pulwama 0, Kupwara 0, Anantnag 1, Bandipora 3, Ganderbal 0, Kulgam 1, Shopian 0, Jammu 30, Udhampur 22, Rajouri 3, Doda 25, Kathua 6, Samba 2, Kishtwar 0, Poonch 3, Ramban 8 and Reasi 1. An unidentified person was crushed to death by a moving train in between the Nowgam-Budgam railway section on Tuesday morning. Officials sources said that one unknown person was hit by a train (04617) in between the Srinagar Budgam section near Km 65.
