Weatherman predicts widespread Rains, Snowfall on February 22, 23

The Weatherman on Sunday forecasted scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rains and snowfall across Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday and Wednesday. Kashmir is witnessing an improvement in night temperatures and an increase in day temperatures from the past two weeks, the MeT said. The Meteorological Department (MeT) earlier said that dry weather will likely continue till February 22nd. Talking to Twitter, MeT Centre wrote, “Forecast & warnings dated 19.02.2022: Scattered to fairly widespread light/moderate rainfall/snowfall very likely over Jammu and Kashmir Region on 22nd & 23rd.”

Kashmiri businessman Zahoor Watali, arrested by the National Investigation Agency in 2017 in a militant financing case, has been moved out of a jail and put under house arrest to facilitate treatment for a terminal disease. A special NIA court earlier this month rejected Watali's application for a regular bail but took a compassionate view of his illness and allowed him to avail treatment from house but in judicial custody. Taking into consideration the advice of doctors from a private hospital as well as those from the AIIMS, the special NIA court said Watali's bail application deserves dismissal as it has been rejected by the Supreme Court. At least 58 female students from a college in Karnataka’s Shivamogga district were suspended on Saturday for wearing hijab and also staging an agitation demanding that they should be allowed to attend classes. The students were from the Government Pre-University College of Shiralakoppa. According to the principal, the college management, development committee tried to explain to the hijab-clad students the interim order of the High Court but they did not listen and pressed for wearing of the hijab. Adil Iqbal Butt, a resident of Sazan-Bajarni village, was apprehended by a joint search party of police, Rashtriya Rifles and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) during checking of vehicles at Thathri on Saturday, the officials said.
