The news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) has leant that the Ministry of Defence has sought cooperation from the Jammu and Kashmir government in supporting and arranging maximum publicity and sensitizing all schools, educational bodies in this regard. 109 Government force personnel killed since abrogation of Article 370: Ministry

A total of 439 militants have been killed in 541 militancy- incidents since the repeal of Article 370 in the state of Jammu Kashmir, Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai informed the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday. The Minister also said that a total of 98 civilians have been killed and 109 Government forces personnel have sacrificed their lives in the said period. Rai said in a written reply to a query by Rajya Sabha MP Neeraj Dangi regarding the number of militancy-related incidents in Jammu Kashmir since the abrogation of Article 370. During these incidents, no significant public property was damaged, however, damages to private property worth Rs 5.3 crore has been assessed, he said. Article 370 was abrogated in the state of Jammu Kashmir on August 5, 2019.

Jammu and Kashmir reported 2304 covid-19 cases, down by 447 from yesterday, even as nine persons succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours, officials said on Wednesday. They said 996 of the fresh cases were confirmed from Jammu Division and 1308 from Kashmir Valley, taking the total count to 440480. Regarding the fresh fatalities, the officials told GNS that five among them were reported from Jammu division and four from Kashmir valley. So far 4692 people have died due to the virus—2294 in Jammu and 2398 in Kashmir Valley.
