Police on Friday claimed to have arrested two Lashkar-e-Toiba associates from Kralpora, Chadoora area of Central Kashmir's Budgam district. Official sources said that two OGWs of LeT outfit were arrested at Kralpora area of Budgam. The policeman who had sustained critical injuries after hit by a load-carrier while performing his duty in Rainawari area of Srinagar succumbed to his injuries. While divulging information about the incident, a police officer told news agency Kashmir News Trust that on 13 December this month, a load carrier (JK01C-3906) hit a police head constable Iftikar Hussain (14/S) when he as usual was performing his duty at Zaind Shah Masjid Chowk in Rainawari. Meer Irfan One Militant has been killed in the ongoing encounter that broke out between Government forces and militants in Muman Arwani area of South Kashmir's Anantnag district. An official told The Kashmiriyat that early on Friday the Government Forcs including RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF had launched a search operation in the area following an input about militant movement in the area. The encounter raged when the joint forces were fired upon by militants during the searches, the official said. During the exchange of gunfire, one Militant has been killed so far, while one or two more are believed to be trapped at the site.
