Innocent civilians have been the biggest casualty of counter-insurgency operations across Jammu Kashmir, northeast and the Left-Wing-affected districts, even as security forces continue to enjoy special powers under the Armed Forces Special Powers Act, Economic times reported. According to the report, Over 4,900 civilians have been killed in Jammu Kashmir in last 21 years, while more than 4,300 died in the northeastern states of Assam, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh. As per reports Wasim Rizvi, a former member and chairman of the Shia Waqf Board, embraced the Hindu religion in a Dasna temple in Ghaziabad. Yati Narsinghanand Giri conducted a ceremony in Dasna temple, Ghaziabad, for Wasim Rizvi's conversion. The Hindu controversial priest named him Jitendra Narayan Singh Tyagi. Wasim Rizvi had recently expressed, after his death, his desire is that he should not be buried, but should be cremated according to Hindu customs. On Sunday evening, the State President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Nagaland, Temjen Imnaalong, released a condemnation statement on the civilian killings that took place on Saturday evening in Nagaland.
