SDA seals under-construction building at Nowgam

Re -Seals Petrol Pump at Kandizal, Pampore In continuation to its demolition drive, the Srinagar Development Authority (SDA) has sealed under-construction illegal and un-authorised structure at Nowgam, Byepass and re-sealed Petrol Pump at Kandizal, Pampore. The drive was successfully executed under the direction of Vice-Chairman SDA Dr.Bashir Ahmad Lone and in coordination with concerned Station House Officers. Meanwhile, the general public is advised not to indulge in any illegal/unauthorized construction. Any structure raised without obtaining building permission shall be sealed and demolished as per the provision of COBA Act 1988.(GNS)

Talking to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the parents whose wards are enrolled in the school said that the school lacks the basic infrastructure, proper accommodation and playground. “Only three rooms are available among which one has been designated for official work purposes at the school while two on two rooms area to accommodate more than 100 students from 1st to 8th standard,” they said. Pistol recovered from vehicle, driver flees in Arwani Anantnag: Police

Police on Tuesday said that during routine Naka checking, a pistol was recovered from a vehicle even as the driver along with the vehicle managed to flee from the spot. A police official told GNS that one person boarding the vehicle was arrested and is presently being questioned. He said that during routine Naka checking at Arwani bridge on new national highway, a police party recovered one pistol from a vehicle—Vitara Breeza. “While the person detained is presently being questioned, the main culprit absconded from the spot along with vehicle and efforts are underway to trace him,” he said. It was not immediately known if the man detained had taken the lift in the vehicle or knew the owner. (GNS)

J&K Reports 2 Covid-19 Deaths, 179 Fresh Cases

Jammu and Kashmir reported 179 fresh covid-19 cases while two persons died due to the virus in the last 24 hours, officials said on Tuesday. Among the fresh cases, 30 were reported from Jammu Division and 149 from Kashmir, taking the overall tally to 335707. There was one death each from Kashmir and Jammu division respectively due to the virus during the last 24 hours, they said. So far 4464 persons—2183 in Jammu and 2281 in Kashmir—have died due to the pathogen, they said. The Jammu and Kashmir government has ordered termination of two more teachers from government services for remaining unauthorisedly absent for a period of more than five years. Officials told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that two teachers have been terminated from their services under Article 113 of J&K Civil Service Rules (Volume I) of 1956. They said that the teachers who have been terminated from their service include Jameela Akhtar teacher BHS Singhpora of Anantnag and Nighat Hussain teacher BMS Soura of Srinagar.
