Every year, migratory birds come to Kashmir through the central Asian flyway zone including Siberia, North China and north Europe to ward off the extreme cold of their summer homes. Meer Irfan A Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) has been launched by Government forces on Sunday afternoon at Khwaja Bagh of Reban aea in South Kashmir's Shopian district. An official told The Kashmiriyat that 1 Rashtriya Rifles of Indian army and Jammu Kashmir Police launched a cordon in the area and started searches there. A fact finding panel at the Sher e Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) has given a clean chit to students at the institute booked for allegedly cheering for Pakistan cricket team in a T20 World Cup match against India. According to a report by News 18, the 5-member panel, which had been tasked by Director SKIMS to probe the allegations has concluded that "neither its premises was used nor students of the institute had participated in the celebrations", the News 18 report said. Government Identifies 524 Kanals of Land for CRPF Camping Sites in South Kashmir Districts

The government has identified the land in three districts of South Kashmir that has to be transferred to the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) for establishing Battalion Camping Sites. These three districts are Anantnag, Shopian, and Pulwama and the land comprise of 524 kanals and 11 marlas. Recently LG Manoj Sinha led State Administrative Council accorded the sanction of transfer of land to CRPF in parts of Kashmir. Reliable sources said that land has been identified in 5 villages of Shopian, 3 villages of Pulwama and 3 villages also from Anantnag district. Mudassir Ahmad Kuloo, a Kashmiri journalist has been awarded the G Santha Teacher Memorial Journalism Award 2021. The 33-year-old Journalist has published reports in various international and local publications including Dainik Bhaskar, Huffington Post, The Third Pole, TRT World among others. Mudasir who will be awarded on 6 November in Bangalore was chosen from a list of three shortlisted Indian journalists. Pakistan Army on Monday handed over a resident of Poonch to Indian counterparts in presence of civil officials at Chaka Da Bag crossing point here, the official said. They told GNS that the person identified as Saif Din son of Ghulam Mohammad Loon of Gagrian (Dhana) Sawjian was handed over by the Pakistan army to Indian counterparts in presence of the Magistrate (Naib Tehsildar) deputed for the task.
