Petrol Prices Increase for the Fifth Consecutive Day- 112 Rupees a Litre in Srinagar

Petrol and diesel prices increased for the fifth consecutive day on Sunday to touch record high levels across the country. In Srinagar the petrol prices have surpassed 112 rupees a litre. With a hike of 35 paisa a litre, the price of petrol in Delhi rose to its highest-ever level of Rs 109.34 a litre. The price of diesel also saw a hike by 35 paisa and took the fuel’s rate to Rs 98.07 per litre in the national capital. Mumbai also reported a surge in fuel prices as compared to yesterday. The petrol in retail cost stands at Rs 115.51 per litre whereas diesel costs Rs 106.23 per litre today in Mumbai. As for Kolkata, the price of petrol is Rs 109. 79 per litre, while diesel is Rs 101.19 per litre. In Chennai, petrol and diesel cost Rs 106.04 and Rs 102.25 per litre respectively. ...

The cost of the Ujh Multipurpose Project has increased to Rs 2741 crore making the cost of the project Rs 11908 crore. Earlier its cost was Rs 9167 crore. In January, India’s environment ministry’s expert panels have recommended clearance for the Ujh multipurpose hydroelectric project in the Kathua region of Jammu Kashmir for which 214,502 trees in the ecologically sensitive area will need to be cut. Ninety percent funding of the project is done by the central government and 10 percent by the state. At least 200 villages in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag district are set to gain benefits from the Lissar Power Grid Station, which is on final stage. The Power Grid Station is being constructed under the Prime Ministers Reconstruction Programme (PMRP). Within the coming two months, grid station will be commissioned.
