Indo-Pak match: Arrested under sedition charges, families of students plead for their release
The families of Kashmiri engineering students who were arrested under sedation charges in Uttar Pradesh's (UP) Agra on Wednesday for celebrating Pakistan's win against India in the T20 World Cup match, have appealed to the government to release them on humanitarian ground or otherwise their entire careers will be ruined.
On last Tuesday Raja Balwant Singh Engineering Technical College in Agra city of Uttar Pradesh had suspended three Kashmir students identified as Arshad Yusuf, Inayat Altaf Sheikh and Shaukat Ahmed Ganai allegedly for taking to social media to celebrate Pakistan team's victory over India in the T20 World Cup match on Sunday.
Soon after their suspension, Uttar Pradesh police booked and arrested the trio under sedition 124 (A) for allegedly celebrating Pakistan cricket...
