Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday said delimitation in Jammu Kashmir will be followed by elections and restoration of statehood. In his first visit to the Valley since Article 370 was revoked two years ago, the Home Minister also held a security review at a high level meeting besides visited the family of a police officer killed by militants earlier this year. “Why should we stop delimitation? Jammu Kashmir police on Sunday said that two policemen and a solider were injured and a Pakistani militant who was taken to the encounter site also sustained injuries and he couldn't be retrieved back at Bhata-Dhurian encounter site in Poonch. A police said that Zia Mustafa, a Pakistani LeT militant was taken to Bhata Durian for identification of a hideout during the ongoing operation in which three army jawans and a JCO were killed. "During the search when team approached hideout, militants again opened fire on joint team of police and army personnel in which two policemen and an army jawan sustained injuries. The Directorate of School Education Kashmir has yet again ignored the High Court directions by restricting the coaching centres from recruiting government teachers for tuitions, teachers associations said on Saturday. The fresh order issued by the Director School Education had asked the private coaching centres to ensure that no government employee is imparting teaching in their coaching centres and warned the owners of strict action if they failed to follow the dictate. On Saturday, a tweet by the office of the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath said that their government has decided to rename the Faizabad railway station. The tweet said that chief minister Yogi took the decision that the railway station will be called the Ayodhya Cantt railway station. Man slips to death into an under construction drain in Srinagar outskirts

A man died after slipping into an under-construction drain in the Harnambal area of Natipora Srinagar outskirts. Local sources told news agency Kashmir News Trust that an elderly man was on his way to visit the house of his daughter at Natipora where she has been married. While on way, he slipped into an under-construction drain. The man was retrieved dead by locals and the police from the drain. A police official while confirming the death of man identified him as Pirzada Mustafa of the Awanitpora area. He said that an ambulance was arranged by a local social group ‘Athwas Group of Humanity’ and the dead body was ferried in that ambulance to his native village.

Police on Saturday claimed to have arrested a militant associate of the Lashkar-e-Toiba outfit in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district. In a statement to GNS, the police said that joint Parties of Baramulla Police headed by SHO Police Sheeri, Army 161 TA, and 53 Bn CRPF arrested an OGW of TRF/ LET outfit along with one hand grenade, two Pistol magazines & 16 live rounds at Kitchama. They identified the arrested OGW as Farooq Ahmad Malik son of Gh Mohd Malik resident of Kitchama. It is pertinent, to mention here that the said individual is OGW of active militant namely Hilal Ahmad Sheikh resident of Shrakwara Kreeri. Authorities here on Saturday afternoon rescued 12 persons, who were stuck near Pir Ki Gali on Mughal road which has been closed by the authorities in wake of the snowfall. Those who were rescued include shopkeepers and workers of a shrine, located at Pir Ki Gali, officials told the news agency-Kashmir News Observer (KNO). Officials said that Mughal Road has been closed in the intervening night of Friday- Saturday and 12 persons were stuck near Pir Ki Gali after which rescue operation was launched by police, Army, traffic police and Mughal road authority. The WordPress has taken down the ‘kashmirfight.wordpress.com’ blog, which is known for publishing controversial material against prominent Kashmiri figures, reported Srinagar based news agency KDC. An official said the campaign to get the blog stopped has been ongoing since 2018, and the Jammu and Kashmir Police had submitted many letters to WordPress requesting that it be removed. It also supplied evidence indicating it was being used to target people in the Kashmir.
