The body of a 20-year-old shepherd was on Tuesday recovered from river Jhelum at the Sopore area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district. Notably, the shepherd drowned in river Jhelum last Wednesday following which the rescue operation was launched. Officials told the news agency–Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the body of the shepherd identified as Nazir Ahmad Cheechi, son of Muhammad Yousuf Cheechi of Bandipora was recovered from river Jhelum at Seer Jagir area of Sopore. A police constable allegedly hanged self to death at his residency in the Pazelpora Shalimar area in central Kashmir's Srinagar district, official sources said. They told GNS that one Bilal Ahmad Dobhi son of Bashir Ahmad Dobhi working as a constable in Armed Police wing was found hanging at his home.
