Missing since 3 days, body of govt employee found in Anantnag

A 52-year-old employee of the Jal Shakti department, who was missing, was found in the Harnag area of South Kashmir's Anantnag district on Wednesday evening, officials said. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that some locals spotted the body of the missing employee, identified as Farooq Ahmad Shah son of Ghulam Rasool Shah of Parigam Kulgam, lying at Harnag area of Anantnag and accordingly informed the concerned police station. “Immediately, after receiving the information, a police team of Khanbal Police Post reached the spot and took the body to a nearby hospital for medico-legal formalities,” he said. Forces Launch Search Operation in Quimoh Area

The Government Forces on Thursday afternoon launched a massive cordon and search operation (CASO) in the Gofbal area of Quimoh in Kashmir’s Kulgam district. Sources informed The Kashmiriyat a joint team of Army, CRPF, and Search operation group (SOG) of Jammu Kashmir Police conducted searches in the Gofbal area of Quimoh and sealed all entry and exit points of the area. Following inputs about the militant movement, a joint team of Army, SOG of J&K Police and CRPF launched search operations in the area. ED sends demand notice of Rs 14,40,000 to SAS Geelani

The Enforcement Directorate has sent a demand notice of over 14 lakh to Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani asking him to deposit the penalty amount, imposed upon him under Foreign Exchange Management Act, 1999, within 10 days. The Cabinet Committee chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi today has approved increase the Dearness Allowance to Central Government employees and Dearness Relief to pensioners with effect from 01.07.2021 to 28% representing an increase of 11% over the existing rate of 17% of the Basic Pay/Pension. In view of the unprecedented situation which arose due to the COVID-19 pandemic, three additional instalments of Dearness Allowance (DA) to Central Government employees and Dearness Relief (DR) to pensioners, which were due from 01.01.2020, 01.07.2020 and 01.01.2021, had been frozen. Hockey Player from Kashmir Dies During Practice in Srinagar

A young player, who played for the Jammu Kashmir Police hockey team, died on Tuesday during practice in Srinagar's Rajbagh area. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that the players had reached the ground for practice when the team goalkeeper Rupinder Singh (24) complained of pain during the warm-up. After that Rupinder fell on the ground and the fellow players immediately rushed him to the Police Hospital in Srinagar, where doctors declared him brought dead. Rupinder's father, a resident of Singhpora village in North Kashmir's Baramulla district, was also in the Jammu Kashmir Police, he died on-duty two years ago. Rupinder was appointed as a follower under the SRO and used to play for the hockey team of the police and recently became a constable.
