All educational institutions continue to remain closed for in-person education till July-31

Bhat Imran The government on Sunday ordered extension for closure of educational institutions across Jammu and Kashmir till July-31. According to the orders of the State Executive Committee, a copy of which lies with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), all schools and higher educational institutes shall remain closed for in-person education till July-31. The government also said that the schools, colleges, universities, technical education, skill development Institutes and coaching centers shall remain closed for in-person and on-campus teaching. However the authorities further said that the programmes or the courses that require physical presence of students will be allowed on account of laboratory, research and thesis work or internship—(KNO)

Operation launched after body seen floating in river near LoC in Rajouri

The security forces on Monday launched an operation after villagers saw a body floating in flooded river waters in the Daddal village of Sunderbani near the Line of Control in Rajouri. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that earlier, last week a gunfight had raged in Daddal village, in which two militants and two army personnel were killed. He said that today morning some locals spotted a body floating in the river, following which they informed the security forces. The official said that the forces later launched an operation to retrieve the body—(KNO)

A pellet victim from North Kashmir’s Kupwara district Monday appealed to people to help him financially for sake of his six kids. Deprived of eye-sight, Muhammad Shaban Malla, a resident of the Gund Moomin area of Kupwara emerged in Press Enclave Srinagar along with his six kids. While talking to reporters, Malla said that he sustained pellet injuries in his eyes at Kralpora Kupwara in 2016. “After an operation in 2017, I lost sight of my both eyes and since then I am finding it hard to feed my family,” he said. A minor girl was found dead after she was taken away by a leopard from an orchard near Zazuna Mandi loacality of Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Sunday evening.
