
Drone Attack on Erbil International Airport, confirm Kurdistan’s Counterterrorism Directorate
An explosives-laden drone hit Erbil International Airport late on Tuesday, the Kurdistan Region's Counterterrorism Directorate has said.
On Tuesday, the Kurdistan Region's Counterterrorism Directorate said that an explosives-laden drone hit Erbil International Airport.
The directorate said that the drone attacked the airport, where US-led coalition troops are stationed, at 10:30 pm. After which, a fire broke out at the site.
Both the US and Kurdish authorities have said that no casualties have been reported, after the coalition confirmed the attack.
20 rockets and three drones were used in the attack, a Telegram channel affiliated with Iran-backed elements of Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF, or Hashd al-Shaabi) claimed.
