Production of Russian Vaccine Sputnik V Begins in Himachal Pradesh

Drugmaker Morepen Laboratories has begun production of Sputnik V, the Russian vaccine against coronavirus in India. The vaccine is being manufactured at Morepen Laboratories' plant in Himachal Pradesh, says Russia's sovereign wealth fund RDIF. The RDIF has said that the first batch will be shipped to Gamaleya Center in Russia for quality control. RDIF and Morepen Laboratories had entered into a cooperation agreement for the manufacture of Sputnik V in June 2021.

Local inhabitants in Audoora village in Handwara have expressed their surprise and dismay after 23 works’ which according to them were sanctioned in Gram Sabha but did not feature in the approved list. A local delegation told GNS that the works were sanctioned in presence of VLW and Sarpanch concerned during a Gram Sabha held on 21 March this year. 55-year-old Man Critically Wounded in Bear Attack in Bandipora

A 55-year-old man was critically injured after being attacked by the bear in North Kashmir's Bandipora district on Tuesday morning. An official identified the man as Mohd Yousif Dar son of Habibulla Dar of Kemah Bandipora. The official said that Mohd Yousuf was outside his home during wee hours today when a bear attacked him. The official said that the man was critically injured in the attack and has been shifted to a bandipora hospital where from doctors referred him to srinagar for advance treatment. The authorities have arrested several doctors and medical workers for involvement in a huge scam selling Covid-19 vaccines in India, to which thousands of people have fallen prey. A senior official of the Mumbai Police Department, Vishal Thakur, has said that atleast 12 fake vaccination drives were held in or near the financial capital Mumbai. "They were using saline water and injecting it," he said. "Every fake vaccination camp that they held, they were doing this." It is estimated that over 2,500 people were given fake shots.
