Gunshots Heard During CASO in Anantnag

Gunshots have been heard in the Ara Khashipora area of South Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) district. An official told The Kashmiriyat that on Monday evening joint Forces incuding Army, Jammu Kashmir Police, and Central Reserve Police Force jointly launched a cordon and search operation in the area following inputs about Militant movement in the area. During the cordon, a few gunshots have been heard in the area, Locals told The Kashmiriyat. More forces have been rushed to the spot, they said. As per the latest reports, no fresh firing has been heard after the initial gunshots.

A 40-year-old man was mauled to death by a bear during cattle grazing in Ladermad forests of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district late last night. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the man who was grazing cattle in Ladermad forests, which is about 70 kms from Brenwar was mauled to by a bear during midnight.
