Sheikh Nadeem/ Danishwar Hameed A day after the lieutenant Governor led administration decided to continue the lockdown in four districts of Jammu Kashmir including Srinagar and Jammu, the district administration of Kulgam and Anantnag have said lockdown will continue in these two districts. The Lockdown in the erstwhile state was imposed on the 28th of April amid a heavy surge in the covid 19 cases. The highest number of deaths since the pandemic began were recorded on Saturday. Shortly after announcing the death of over 700 primary teachers compelled to work on panchayat election duty, the Uttar Pradesh Primary Teachers Association voiced their concern about 300 more teachers, who are in critical condition since April 29, 2021. According to General Secretary Sanjay Singh, members called for a boycott of all election-related duties during previous meetings in light of the increasing death toll. Man Commits Suicide in Shopian Kashmir

Meer Irfan A man has allegedly committed suicide in the Pinjoora area of Shopian in South Kashmir. An official told The Kashmiriyat that on Sunday morning, the family members of the person (name withheld) was found dead inside his house, after which his family rushed him to the hospital. Upon his arrival at the hospital, he was declared brought dead by the doctors, the official said, adding, "after the completion of medical and legal formalities, the body will be handed over to the family members for last rites." Locals said that he is survived by two minor children and a wife. Meanwhile, the police official said that a case under relevant sections of law has been registered in this regard and further investigation has been initiated.

Danishwar Hameed The District Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat, today, inaugurated 1000 LPM oxygen plant, at District Hospital Kulgam. The Kulgam's Medical Superintendent was also present at the event. On the occasion, the DC said that the demand for oxygen had increased because of the Covid-19 pandemic, and thus, it had become a challenge to ensure supply as per the demand. He said that the plant with the capacity of 1000 LPM production of oxygen would meet the demand of oxygen. Later, the DC conducted an inspection of Kulgam town to see the implementation of the COVID-19 lockdown.
