Six Patients Undergo Angioplasty in Super Specialty Hospital Srinagar in a Single day

In a major achievement, six patients have undergone primary/rescue angioplasty in a government super specialty Hospital in Srinagar on Tuesday in just a day. An official told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that two among them were in cardiogenic shock. “The six patients include a 70-year-old smoker with diabetes, 48-year-old male smoker, 47-year-old male smoker, 37-year year-old male smoker, 58 years old female suffering from hypertension and 46-year-old army man, also a smoker,” he said. He added that all the six angioplasty were done free of cost under Ayushman Sehat Scheme. The authorities in central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Wednesday ordered the closure of government girls higher secondary school Budgam for at least five days after one teacher was tested positive for Covid-19. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the educational institution has been closed for at least 5 days after detection of Covid-19 positive cases in the school. He said that all the primary and secondary contacts of the affected teachers and students have been advised to self-isolate and quarantine themselves. Bank Balance of Three Departments in Kashmir Rise As Compensation not Disbursed- CAG

There was an increase in accumulated balances in 1,138 bank accounts of three departments in Jammu and Kashmir between 2014 and 2019 due to factors such as improper planning and undisbursed funds for relief or compensation to victims of militancy and natural disasters, the CAG has said. It is recommended that there is an effective monitoring mechanism in the union territory in this regard and government instructions are strictly implemented, it said in a report tabled in Parliament recently. Shabir Khan A municipal councilor and one Policeman were killed in a militant attack on Monday afternoon in the Sopore area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district. An official told The Kashmiriyat that Municipal Councilor and his security guard were attacked by militants in Sopore near the Municipal council office resulting in their injuries after which they were later rushed to the hospital. However, both of them succumbed to their injuries. The Municipal Councilor was identified as Riyaz Ahmad and the killed security guard was identified as Shafqat Ahmed.
